Introducing Eric Devontae
New Year, New Faces honey. We would like to official introduce you to our first male brand ambassador representing the LGBTQ community, Eric Devontae aka "The Baddest Bitch on the Block".
We recently sat down with Eric to chat for a bit and get his take on the brand and our latest campaign. Here's how it went.
Brittney: "Word on the street is Eric Devontae is a whole mood. Tell me a little bit about yourself and what you do."
Eric Devontae: "Lol, we love when the streets preach a good word. Well, my name is Eric Devontae Russell. I’m 27 years old, and originally from Queens, NY. I like to think of myself as “The Baddest Bitch On The Block” which basically is my way of saying that, no matter where you go, you’ll never encounter a vibe like mine. I’m fun, ambitious, hard working, loving, and really fucking dope, respectfully lol. I am an Entertainer, Journalist, Host, Podcaster, Writer, and really whatever else my spirit wants to be. Ultimately, all I want to do is use the gifts that God gave me to leave a positive impact on the world. I hope to inspire creatives of all ages to go after their dreams and be their authentic selves. I’m not here for a long time, just a good time… A DAMN GOOD TIME."

Brittney: "Amen! We could all use a little inspiration. As you know, CalhounnuohlaC is a philanthropic fashion brand that gives back to the Drug inflicted community. What missions or causes matter to you?"
Eric Devontae: "I love that so much! Drugs have taken a toll on the Black community, ESPECIALLY (and we all know who is behind that, but I digress.) One cause that is of extreme importance to me is homelessness. I know it may seem like a “Cliche” answer because most people say it, but it’s such an issue, especially in LA. When we think about homeless people, I think we often focus on the “homeless” part and disregard the “people” part. Most people refuse to even acknowledge their existence on the street which is kind of cruel when you think about it. Everyone deserves a chance to have a good life which includes having consistent food, shelter, and all the basic essentials. Once I’m well established in my career, I have so many plans as far as what I want to implement to improve the situations of the homeless community."

Brittney: "You're a natural when it comes to creating looks. How would you describe your style?"
Eric Devontae: "Awww Thank You! I loveeeee getting dressed. Fashion is like one of my gifts to the world. You literally can give any aesthetic that you want to. I personally love nostalgia and the 90’s aesthetic. Very Living Single, Martin, Moesha, Fresh Prince. The patterns, the colors, it’s all just so good! I also love “gender bending” (I put that in quotes because clothes are clothes IMO, but you get it.) Looking at my clothes, I feel like I have a youthful sense of fashion with a healthy dash of sex appeal. I have a sporty boyish edge with some of my outfits, but I like to give that feminine flare with the crop tops, high waisted shorts/ pants. Duality is the key lol. Ultimately, it just depends on my mood. One thing that you can always expect is that I will always have some type of skin showing lol."

Brittney: "Yes!! We know you stay flaunting that beautiful brown skin. Idk about you, but I had an amazing time working with you on our shoot. I honestly feel like you killed EVERYTHING, but I wanna hear from you. What was your favorite look that we shot?"
Eric Devontae: "Brittney!! It was SO MUCH FUN!! YOU ARE EVERYTHING!!! I loved all three looks so much, but that Moss biker short set with the long cape(Cardigan) truly has my heart. It pushed me further outside my comfort zone, and it was just cute as TF. I also think that we vibed so much while we shot that look. It didn’t feel forced. You came through with that SWV and we just made magic! I’m so excited for everyone to see all of the photos!!!!"
